OCEANSIDE, CA (March 1, 2024) - The Beach Soccer Championships are set to operate this June 2-4, 2023 in Oceanside, California! Regsitration is now open for youth and adult teams to reserve their spot in BeSoCha 2023!
The annual festival draws over 10,000 participants and 50,000 attendees to the local beaches, and includes a Professional division attracting some of the best beach soccer players from around the world, including Japan, Spain, Italy, United Arab Emirates and Brazil.
The Beach Soccer Championships
The Beach Soccer Championships is the amateur & youth side of our event. In our inaugural year, we hosted 152 teams on 15 courts (fields). By 2010, we reached our capacity of 28 courts, doubling the number of teams hosted annually…and we have sold the event out each year since! Staying true to the reasons our company formed, we deliver a festival with soccer, music and LOTS OF FUN UNDER THE SUN! Our event represents the start of the summer soccer season in Southern California and provides a fresh break away from traditional soccer environments. We add entertainment and PRO games to create the perfect California beach party to kick the summer. All while raising and donating over $225,000 dollars to our local youth programs!
The Beach Soccer USA Cup
The Beach Soccer US Pro Cup takes place side by side with our amateur event. The PRO event formally known as the Beach Soccer USA Cup, has grown hosting U.S. based and international teams from the following nations: Mexico, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Colombia, Canada, Peru, Senegal, Japan, Tahiti, Switzerland and of course, Brazil!
The Beach Soccer USA Cup has been ranked among the top beach soccer club events in the world. Highlights include past champions and local pro dynasty San Diego Sockers and three-time champions CD Nacional (Portugal) who won in 2012, 2013 & 2014. In 2015, Brazil’s Vasco de Gama (Brazil) defeated FIFA Player of the Year Ramiro Amarelle’s FC Barcelona (Spain) 5-4 in the Quarterfinals before losing to eventual champion BSC Chargers (Switzerland). In 2016 our Champion was Al Ahli (UAE, Dubai) who featured Madjer (FIFA Player of the year & Portugese World Cup Champion) as the MVP. Brazilian club Botafogo took 2nd place, Lazio (Italy) took 3rd place & RWB Beach (USA National Team playing as Red, White & Blue) took 4th place. In the 2017 Final, another historic Brazilian club, Fortaleza defeated GoBeachSoccer, a team filled with Brazialian internationals & locally based US National Team players including Mike Palmerin, Nick Perrera and Chris Toth.
The Beach Soccer USA Cup rebranded in 2018 to become the Beach Soccer U.S. Pro Cup. This alignment positions us as a qualifier for a national championship going forward along with the adult Amatuer and Youth events as well. Palemerin, Toth & Perrera led GoBeachSoccer to the 2018 championship, but an attempt to defend their title was ruined when Lazio beat GoBeachSoccer for the 2019 championship. After not operating in 2020 or 2021 due to issues related to COVID 19, GoBeachSoccer returned to Oceanside and beat Florida Beach Soccer (FBS) for the 2022 tournament championship! We expect the 2023 US Pro Cup to be another quality BeSoCha experience which is what our attendees and partners have come to expect in Oceanside!

Athletes who have been waiting for beach soccer to return can rejoice — summer fun is back! We reached out to Coach Z to get more information. Here’s what he told us:
FOR FOR ALL AGES The event is for EVERYONE: U8 to U19 for youth. Also adult men, women and coed, in addition to the pros! 5V5 Teams play in a 5V5 format, and subs happen pretty often. It’s a high pace game and very fun. Teams are guaranteed 3 games, plus medal rounds for those who earn it. THREE PERIODS OF FAST-PACED SOCCER IN THE SAND.
Games will be played under FIFA Beach Soccer rules. So, three periods of 12 minutes each per FIFA.
BEACH PARTY As long as players have US Club or USYS players cards, and have a licensed coach with a card, they can enter a team. Most teams rename their team or even break their full-sized team into two teams and make up fun names and uniforms. It is a total beach party! This is not a normal soccer tournament. This is a Beach Soccer Festival. It’s great team bonding to start the summer tournament season.
WATCH THE PROS PLAY, TOO! There aren’t any other youth soccer tournaments where you can walk over to the next “field” and see a professional game. The professional bracket will bring out most of the US National Team including their coach to scout as well as dozens of the worlds best sand soccer players. Our defending champion is Lazio!!! We provide this stadium on the sand for FREE! We use it to demonstrate how the sand game should be played, and it will be a great show.

California COVID-19 Health Order Causes Postponement to June 2020
OCEANSIDE, CA (April 1, 2020) -Due to the State of California & County of San Diego COVID-19 Health Order, it has become increasingly unlikely that we will be able to hold the Beach Soccer Championship on the May 1-3, 2020 dates as originally planned. We are working closely with City of Oceanside officials along with our tourism and sponsorship partners and sanctioning bodies such as CalSouth Youth Soccer and Flag Football W.C.T. in hopes we will be able to hold the event sometime in mid to late June, 2020. Please continue to monitor our site for updated information. We hope to see you on the sand and please be safe during this incident.

NorCal BSC Returns to BeSocha for the 2018 Beach Soccer US Pro Cup
Northern California based PRO Beach Soccer Club NorCal BSC will participate for a 3rd year on a row in The Beach Soccer Championships pro bracket in Oceanside, California for our 12th year anniversary.
NorCal BSC has their sights set on the 2nd round having slugged it out with the best teams in the world in recent competitions. The team is ready for the challenge, they have been one of the most active clubs in the USA and in recent months have made many trips around the nation as well as Trinidad & Tobago preparing for the big event in Oceanside.
NorCal BSC will be a contender in Oceanside, they have the experience and talent to be able to make it out of their group. The team will lean on the experience of Alan Grady, David "Guero" Mondragon, Matteo Lupini, Tanner Akol, Sergio Valle along with the solid core talented local bred players joining the team.
The Beach Soccer Championships is extremely excited to have NorCal BSC back in our lineup, they are our 2nd announcement for this year's event and we can't' wait to see them on the sands in Oceanside.

Fortaleza arrived to the Championship game following victories over LA Beach Soccer 15-3, Great Lakes BSC 13-4, a loss to Beach Soccer Zeeland from Netherlands 4-5, NorCal BSC 9-5, Gobeachsoccer 8-6 and over Botafogo 6-4in the Final.The Championship game of The Beach Soccer USA Cup would guarantee that we would have our 1st champion from South American & more specifically from Brazil as both squads hail from that South American nation.
